We hope to be good HPDE 2 drivers on the three tracks NASA's 09 program will visit and aren't looking much beyond that. We want to ensure we have the confidence of other participants and just have a whole lot more fun. And there's no ambitions here to become "racers", just becoming good drivers is sufficient progress for us both!

See you next year ....Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12413114058841397763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138624071288497496.post-11364312779566211872008-11-11T21:59:00.000-08:002008-11-11T21:59:00.000-08:00Wow, Rich! So with all of these modifications to the 'vette, will you and Margo be staying with NASA to compete in time trials, and for that huge, 6" trophy :)? It's always a pleasure seeing you two at teh track, and I can't wait until next year when we meet again! I'll have some fun modifications to my little Nissan by that time. Can't wait!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138624071288497496.post-11193455070208300312008-10-22T08:03:00.000-07:002008-10-22T08:03:00.000-07:00Your observations about racing are correct, and I ...Your observations about racing are correct, and I have "updated" the post to better reflect what actually goes on during the education sessions.

As for driving a Crossbow - perhaps I confused him with someone from medieval times. He was pretty wicked in that car all the same.

I have corrected errors as best I could and I hope the changes haven't messed with the story. I don't think so - but let's see.

And yes, we will be participating in the November classes and this time, we will be bringing a second car. Stay tuned ...

Thanks,Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12413114058841397763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138624071288497496.post-36158110586716402672008-10-21T20:39:00.000-07:002008-10-21T20:39:00.000-07:00Well Richard, as always a masterpiece of writting....Well Richard, as always a masterpiece of writting. Although I must point out a few 'blunders'.

1. It's a cross-fire, not a cross-bow. Its made as a joint-venture with Chrysler and Mercedes Benz, and the model that was there on our weekend was the SRT-6 Version, and I have driven that exact car, and I can tell you - WOW! I would buy that over your vette :P

2. Again, to point out, as much as you and others like to think we are, WE AREN'T RACING!!! Like Fulton does, I'll say it again, WE AREN'T RACING - Got it?

I love to read your posts, and the angle at which you approach them, it's very enlightening to see it from you and Margo's angle. I hope Fulton enjoys them as much as I do.

I'm sorry to say I didn't get to drive the new beast, all 500+ hp of it, but I was helping my buddy with his M3 race car (not the one the blew up), and my son Thomas was with me, as everyone knew since we used his track maps later in the day :).

Do I read correctly that you won't be at the November event? I doubt they will pull the ol' track-switcheroo on u. If so, you'll be sourly missed.

I'm so glad you two had a good year, and glad to see you improving.

That C6 of Carlo's you mentioned, was fun to pass in my buddies M3 race car we were working on last event, and that M3 that blew up, well that was my buddie's buddy, who tried going from fourth-to-first and well, you saw the outcome, a total (I mean total) engine failure! But that's OK, his family owns a BMW junk-yard, and rumor has it, his uncle is bringing his Farrari 430 out next event to let us run it 'round the track for some fun.

See you soon

JohnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
